Bon Appetit, Lil' Muhammad

Hello, Monday! Wishing you a great week with much love, joy and peace!

Alhamdulillah our little Muhammad turns six months yesterday. Now six months, he is ready to take his first step towards the wonderful world of waening! Yeehaaa!! If Abdullah was first introduced to complementary food in his five months age, it doesn't applied to lil' Muhammad - it's ok, dik, because i believe the breast milk still supply you with enough calorie. Even though you passed all the checklist just like your elder brother did, but i found it's best to delay until you're six months old before we start solid food on you.

Why wait until six months? *professor mode is on!*

First and foremost, we prepare you with a greater protection from illness. Breast milk contains lots of immune factors, that's the fact. Exclusive breastfeeding for six months helps to develop those good bacteria that protect your gut.

Secondly, we give it ample time for your digestive system to mature. All newborns' cells are still immature and posses what is often referred to as an open gut, which means that they are in space and those macromolecules can pass through and go directly into the bloodstream. All breastfed babies will benefit from this condition as the antibodies in breastmilk will pass directly into the bloodstream, to coat the digestive tract and provide passive immunity to the baby. If the baby is weaned too early,  this open immature gut condition appears to be the other way round as it allows disease-causing pathogens from other food to pass through too. So it is best to delay the weaning until six months as the gut will close at this age and the baby can produce antibodies by himself at this stage too.

And the last one is, of course the one that mommy don't want to miss out - mommy can have rapid postpartum weight loss! I believe that mommies who exclusively breastfeed their babies for six months, compared to four months, can more quickly lose extra baby weight. Selalunya after confinement people around you will tegur "Uisshh! Kurusnya you! Slim nya you! Ni yang jeles ni!" But remember, if you really want to ensure she will get that weight like 'forever' or it is just due to breastfeeding, wait until her baby turns six months. Hahahah! Normally, mommies will start to put on weight again once the baby starts weaning. **cry, baby, cry!**

Ok, forget it. Soon we discover on this ok? So now, being a six month baby and taking his first step towards conquering the dining table, what should this Little Muhammad be trying first?

Taraaa!

Mommy prepared this pumpkin puree for a start! Tenderly steamed, finely blended, so orangey by the look, so sweet by the taste.

And i love to see your first impression.

Bon appetit, sayang.

There's a lot more to come!
